1. Built for endurance
This Datsun 240Z was built by Fourways Engineering to FIA specification for endurance rallying for the owner Nick Maris. Below is a description of the car and work carried out in Nick’s own words…
Fourways Engineering rebuilt my 1973 Datsun 240Z to a specification suitable for endurance rallying.
The work involved receiving a painted shell, completing the restoration including a compete rebuild of the engine to their specification, brakes, differential, suspension, interior, supervising the wiring installation and testing and commissioning the car.
2. Engine tuning
Fourway’s also handled the dyno testing of the engine, which took the power from 150 to over 200bhp while remaining very tractable – and all of the work needed to successfully apply for and receive a FIVA Identity Card, and an FIA Historic Passport, both very important for the use and value of the car, and nowadays challenging to get.
3. Customer service
Dealing with all the staff was a pleasure from start to finish. Everything they said they would do they did, on time, within the budget they’d indicated, and to a very high standard.
The high quality of the work extended to properly documenting the restoration with photographs, receipts and a catalogue of the works carried out.
